Ablakwa hails 2026 Ghana-EU Partnership Dialogue as success, highlights strategic agreements
Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa has described the 2026 Ghana-European Union Partnership Dialogue as a success, highlighting strengthened cooperation between Ghana and the European Union across key sectors.
In a Facebook post, the Foreign Affairs Minister said Ghana, as the EU’s largest trading partner in the statement’s context, was expanding collaboration to align with the priorities of the Ghana government.
He noted that Ghana had become the first African country to sign several strategic partnership agreements with the EU in critical areas, adding that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs was encouraged by the effectiveness of a new comprehensive project database and coordination framework being used to improve efficiency and impact across all 16 regions of the country.
Mr Ablakwa said Ghana’s approach was focused on “trade not aid”, value addition rather than the export of raw materials, and strengthening health sovereignty through the Accra Reset Agenda and mutually beneficial partnerships.
He expressed appreciation to John Dramani Mahama for opening the dialogue, stating that President Mahama was the only Ghanaian president to have opened the annual Ghana-EU dialogue twice since assuming office for his second term.
