Accra to host Ghana Global Leadership Summit and Awards 2026
Ghana will host some of the world's most influential leaders, policymakers, diplomats, entrepreneurs, and development experts as the Ghana Global Leadership Summit and Awards 2026 takes place at the Accra City Hotel on Friday, June 5, under the theme: "Leadership, Integrity, National and International Transformation."
Organized by Ghana Leadership Awards International (GLAI), the event marks eighteen years of leadership advocacy, policy research, and recognition of excellence across Africa and beyond.
The summit is expected to serve as a platform for dialogue on governance, economic transformation, peacebuilding, innovation, and sustainable development.
Speaking ahead of the event, organizers said the summit is aimed at inspiring a new generation of transformational leaders capable of addressing contemporary global challenges while creating opportunities for future generations.
Founded on the motto, "Love Your Country, Love Your People," Ghana Leadership Awards International has over the years evolved into a respected leadership and policy advocacy institution promoting ethical leadership, accountability, democratic governance, social justice, and international cooperation.
One of the organization's notable achievements was a policy research publication in 2016 that proposed visa restrictions for politicians during election periods as a tool to promote accountability, reduce political tensions, and discourage electoral violence.
The proposal attracted international attention and contributed to broader discussions on democratic accountability and responsible political leadership.
According to the organizers, the Ghana Global Leadership Summit and Awards is more than an awards ceremony. It seeks to promote ethical leadership, strengthen national cohesion, encourage transparency, attract investment, support youth development, and facilitate international partnerships.
The summit comes at a time when countries across the world are grappling with political instability, economic uncertainty, climate change, youth unemployment, and growing security concerns.
Organizers believe the gathering will provide an opportunity for leaders to exchange ideas, develop strategic partnerships, and identify practical solutions to these pressing challenges.
Participants are expected to include government officials, traditional leaders, investors, academics, development partners, entrepreneurs, and representatives of international organizations.
As part of its global expansion strategy, Ghana Leadership Awards International also announced plans to host the Global Government Officials, CEOs and Leadership Summit and Awards – Canada 2026 in Toronto. The event will bring together government officials, business executives, investors, diplomats, policymakers, and global thought leaders to discuss leadership innovation, economic development, technological advancement, and international cooperation.
The special guest will be
The Ga Mantse and the supreme traditional king and custodian of the Ga State in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana. The current Ga Mantse is King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II
Organizers have extended invitations to governments, multinational corporations, financial institutions, universities, diplomatic missions, and development agencies to partner with the initiative through sponsorships and strategic collaborations.
The Ghana Global Leadership Summit and Awards 2026 will begin with a red-carpet session at 5:30 p.m., followed by the main event at 6:00 p.m. at the Accra City Hotel.
Organizers say the summit represents a call to action for leaders to place service above self, integrity above convenience, and national development above personal interests as they work toward building a better Ghana and a better world.
