Akyem Akroso Chief, Clergy call for peace and unity to drive development
The Chief of Akyem Akroso in the Asene Manso Akroso District of the Eastern Region, Osaberema Nana Kwabena Ofori II, together with the leadership of the Local Council of Churches, has called on residents to embrace peace and unity as a foundation for development.
The appeal was made during a ceremony to unveil a new chieftaincy title conferred on the chief by the Omanhene of the Akyem Kotoku Traditional Area in recognition of his leadership and service to the community.
Addressing the gathering, Chairman of the Local Council of Churches – Akroso, Phillip Oware Kumi, stressed that unity and peace are essential pillars for growth in every community.
He encouraged residents to rally behind their chief and traditional leaders to promote development initiatives in Akyem Akroso.
Rev. Kumi noted that collective support and harmony among residents would accelerate progress and improve living standards in the area.
In his remarks, Osaberema Nana Kwabena Ofori II disclosed that certain individuals who opposed the town’s progress had allegedly attempted to create division between him and other traditional leaders.
However, he said those efforts had ultimately strengthened his resolve and leadership.
He urged all residents of Akyem Akroso to put aside differences and work together with traditional authorities to advance development projects and ensure sustained progress in the community.
