Ashanti youth pick nomination forms for former NUGS President Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel in a show of massive support
A broad coalition of current and former TESCON presidents and executives, former student leaders, and youth from across the Ashanti Region on Wednesday, July 15, 2026, picked the New Patriotic Party (NPP) Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer nomination forms on behalf of the former National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS) President, Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel, popularly called YB.
The delegation was led by Kyeremeh Oppong Daniel, former NUGS President and Head of Elections Coordination for the YB Campaign, who described the exercise as a demonstration of the youth’s confidence in Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel’s leadership and ability to reposition the party’s youth front in the Ashanti Region.
Addressing the media, members of the delegation emphasised that YB’s impressive leadership journey—from serving as TESCON President at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) to becoming President of the National Union of Ghana Students (NUGS), Ghana’s largest student and youth movement—has adequately prepared him for the office of Ashanti Regional Youth Organizer.
According to the group, YB possesses the experience, grassroots appeal, and organizational capacity required to energize the party’s youth base, strengthen grassroots mobilisation, and help the NPP consolidate and maximise its electoral fortunes in the Ashanti Region, the party’s electoral stronghold.
The delegation further expressed confidence that Yiadom Boakye Emmanuel’s candidature represents a new chapter of energetic, inclusive, and results-driven youth leadership, urging the party delegates to support his vision for a more vibrant and united youth wing ahead of the 2028 general elections.
