Ato Forson promises to collaborate with new Agric Minister for fair cocoa prices

The Finance Minister-designate, Dr Cassiel Ato Forson, has assured cocoa farmers of fair pricing for their produce through collaboration with the incoming Minister for Agriculture.
Appearing before the Appointments Committee of Parliament on Monday, January 13, Ato Forson expressed his commitment to working alongside the new minister to ensure that cocoa farmers receive an equitable price for their crops.
He emphasised the importance of fair prices for the nation’s cocoa farmers, whose livelihoods are closely tied to the profitability of their cocoa production.
"Very soon, the next Agriculture Minister will be in place, and I will commit to work with him to ensure that the cocoa farmer is given a fair price for their produce," Ato Forson said.
The Finance Minister-designate further acknowledged the significant role cocoa plays in Ghana's economy and the need for a pricing structure that reflects the hard work and contribution of cocoa farmers.
By promising to work collaboratively with the new Agriculture Minister, Dr Ato Forson reiterated his dedication to addressing key agricultural issues and enhancing the welfare of cocoa farmers.
