Calm restored at Bawku SHS after alleged assault on teacher
The Bawku Municipal Director of Education, Isaac Agbeko Azasoo, says normalcy has returned to Bawku Senior High School following an alleged attack on a teacher by a group of final-year students.
According to him, academic activities are proceeding without interruption, with students back in class and continuing their examinations as scheduled.
The incident, which sparked concern among education stakeholders and residents, reportedly occurred on the school's campus and involved a teacher who was allegedly assaulted by some students in their final year.
The development raised questions about the safety of teaching staff and the potential effect on teaching and examination activities at the school.
However, speaking to Class News, Mr. Azasoo assured parents and the public that the situation had been successfully managed and that the school environment had returned to normal.
He said both teaching and learning had resumed fully, while students remained focused on their ongoing examinations.
Mr. Azasoo also revealed that no suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident.
According to him, efforts to identify those involved have proven challenging because the alleged assault occurred at night, making it difficult to determine the individuals responsible.
He explained that investigators are still working to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those who may have participated in the attack.
The Municipal Director further urged students to channel their concerns through appropriate school authorities rather than resorting to acts of indiscipline or violence.
He emphasized the need for dialogue and adherence to established grievance procedures to maintain peace and order within educational institutions.
