Charlotte’s Memorial Foundation, in collaboration with Amazing Girls Foundation, successfully held a menstrual hygiene awareness education and dignity pack donation at St. Anna’s Family Home School, Winneba. 

The programme, themed “African Girls Rise: When She Knows, She Rises”, focused on educating both girls and boys on menstrual health, breaking stigma, and promoting dignity.

Participants received hands-on education on menstrual hygiene management, debunking myths, and fostering supportive attitudes among boys as allies.

The event was sponsored by Lexta Ghana Limited and received support from Mayekoo Ghana and Baatsonaa Total Supermarket.

As part of the donation drive, each girl received a dignity pack containing sanitary products.

The Foundation also distributes educational materials, clothing, and books throughout the year. 

This marks the 2nd collaboration between Charlotte’s Memorial Foundation and Amazing Girls Foundation, building on their shared commitment to empower adolescents with knowledge and resources for healthy development.

Ms. Isabella Akwaboah, an Impact Maker nominee and founder of Amazing Girls Foundation and trained teacher led the menstrual hygiene education. 

The event also crowned a series of distributions carried out by Charlotte’s Memorial Foundation in the Central, Volta and Greater Accra Regions, aimed at ensuring that periods do not pause potential for any girl.

Speaking at the programme, Mrs. Beatrice Pratt-Fosu, Founder of Charlotte's Memorial Foundation said that this year's series of menstrual hygiene awareness education aims at teaching both boys and girls about menstruation in a bid to break the stigma and myths about the biological phenomenon. 

The programme was honoured by the presence of Rev. Charles Andrews, a Ghanaian philanthropist based in Indiana, USA and a life-patron of the two foundations.

In his address, he commended Charlotte's Memorial Foundation and St. Anna's Family Home School - led by their Headmistress, Ms. Emelia Turkson for their sustained impact on children and youth education and wellbeing over the years.
