Constitution Review Committee engages faith-based leaders ahead of national consultations

The Constitution Review Committee has held a day-long engagement with leaders and representatives of Ghana’s faith community as part of its ongoing efforts to solicit broad-based input for the constitutional review process.
The meeting, which took place on Tuesday, June 10, brought together prominent figures from the Christian and Muslim communities as well as representatives from the GaDangme Council.
The discussions were described as frank, inclusive, and constructive.
Key issues addressed included Church/Mosque-State relations, the role of faith-based organisations in society, interfaith and intra-faith cooperation, and broader governance and constitutional concerns.
The engagement forms part of the Committee’s strategy to ensure all critical voices are heard in shaping a future constitution that reflects the values and aspirations of the Ghanaian people.
The Committee is set to begin its zonal public consultations in selected regions across the country next week.
Citizens are encouraged to participate actively in the process. In addition to in-person engagements, the Committee is still receiving written submissions via email at [email protected].
The Constitution Review Committee reiterated its commitment to a transparent and inclusive process that strengthens democratic governance and national cohesion.
