Details of tomorrow's state burial for 8 victims of GAF Z9 helicopter crash

Government has released full details for the funeral of the victims of the August 6 Z9 helicopter crash in Adansi Akrufuom, Ashanti Region.
The ceremony, scheduled for tomorrow, Friday, August 15, will be a full military service conducted by the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).
Speaking at a press conference earlier today, the Deputy Chief of Staff, Stan Dogbe, said the funeral will be held in three parts, beginning with Bible and Qur’an recitals, followed by the main service, and ending with the burial.
He said the pre-burial programme will run from 7:30 to 9:00 in the morning.
The three-hour ceremony will feature the reading of biographies of all eight victims, along with tributes from widows, children, government officials, and institutional representatives.
The public is urged to arrive early and comply with all security arrangements.
Air Commodore Thomas Okai says tomorrow’s funeral service will be primarily military in nature.
GAF will transport the bodies from the morgue to Black Star Square, and later to the military cemetery.
Military chaplains will lead the service, supported by civilian ministers, pastors, and imams.
According to Superintendent Obeng of the MTTD, traffic regulations will also be in full force from this afternoon to ensure a smooth flow of vehicles around the venue.
Motorists are advised to follow police instructions, use designated parking areas, and avoid routes leading directly to the ceremonial grounds unless authorised.
