'Disregard transport fare increment' – Commercial Transport Operators

The Commercial Transport Operators have asked “Ghanaians to disregard the proposed transport fare increment slated for August 8, 2025, by the Ghana Road Transport Coordinating Council”.
“There has been no official announcement from relevant authorities, and we are yet to agree on any fare increase,” the statement explained.
This was communicated through a statement dated August 8, 2025, signed by Asonaba Nana Wiredu, Acting Chairman, Commercial Transport Operators; and Yaw Barimah, True Drivers Union.
The statement advised, “Commuters should continue to pay existing fares until further notice”.
“Report any unauthorized fare increases to the authorities,” it urged, in conclusion.
