The former  Chief of Staff, Madam Akosua Frema Osei-Opare, has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of former First Lady Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings.

 In a heartfelt tribute, Madam Osei-Opare said she was “deeply shocked and heartbroken” by the news of the former First Lady’s death, recalling their last encounter at the funeral service of Mrs. Effah at Christ the King Parish, where they shared a warm embrace.

“I have always admired her as a woman of great substance and a true believer in the power of women to contribute meaningfully to national development,” the former Chief of Staff stated.

“She was courageous and resilient, navigating the grace and turbulence of political life with dignity and strength.”

She further described her as a ‘torchbearer’ for women's empowerment.

Madam Osei-Opare also noted that she shared familial ties with the late Nana Konadu through both paternal and maternal heritage, saying the loss felt deeply personal.

“As a relative through both her paternal and maternal heritage, I feel this loss deeply.

We have indeed lost a remarkable family treasure,” she said, extending condolences to the bereaved family.

She further described Nana Konadu as a visionary leader who championed women’s rights and empowerment throughout her life, leaving behind a powerful legacy that continues to inspire generations of Ghanaian women.

“My heartfelt condolences go to her devoted children, family, and all Ghanaian women.

Rest in peace, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings,” the Chief of Staff concluded.
