Ghana Gas Acting CEO advocates increased social investments in Western Region

The Acting Chief Executive Officer of Ghana Gas Company Limited, Judith Adwoba Blay, has underscored the importance of prioritizing the Western Region in the company’s social investment initiatives.
Speaking on the matter, Madam Blay emphasized that while Ghana Gas serves the entire country, it is only fair that the region hosting the bulk of its infrastructure benefits significantly from its Corporate Social Responsibility efforts.
To facilitate this, she announced plans to form a dedicated working group comprising representatives from the Western Regional House of Chiefs and Ghana Gas management.
This team will oversee the planning and implementation of social investment projects to ensure impactful development in the region.
In a bid to strengthen ties with the region, Madam Blay also pledged to work from the Western Region on a quarterly basis rather than being stationed solely at the company’s headquarters in Accra.
Addressing the government’s planned expansion of Ghana Gas’ infrastructure, including the construction of a new Gas Processing Plant, she assured that employment opportunities would be equitably distributed.
The President of the Western Regional House of Chiefs, Nana Kobena Nketia V, supported the call for greater investment in the region.
He further advocated for key oil and gas institutions to be headquartered in the Western Region, given its status as the hub of the nation’s oil and gas assets.
Despite this concern, he expressed confidence in Madam Blay’s leadership, particularly as a capable native of the region.
