Ghana engages Ukraine on release of citizens, strengthening bilateral ties
Ghanaian Foreign Affairs Minister Samuel O. Ablakwa held a high-level meeting with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy today, focusing on the release of two Ghanaian citizens currently held as prisoners of war.
The discussions centered on Ghana’s appeal on humanitarian grounds, as well as measures to safeguard the rights of its citizens under international law.
Minister Ablakwa described the talks as “fruitful” and expressed optimism about a positive outcome for the detained Ghanaians.
“Our bilateral discussions also explored strategies to combat human trafficking networks that exploit African youth, exposing them to the dangers of conflict zones,” Ablakwa noted.
