The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, has assured Ghanaians that government will take appropriate action following the submission of the final report on the fire incident at the Akosombo Substation.

Speaking on Thursday, June 11, Dr. Jinapor disclosed that he had officially received the report from the investigative committee tasked with determining the cause of the incident and assessing the circumstances surrounding the fire outbreak.

According to the Minister, the government will carefully review the committee’s findings and recommendations before deciding on the necessary measures to be taken.

He emphasized that accountability remains a key priority and assured the public that any actions arising from the report would be guided by the evidence and recommendations presented by the committee.

Dr. Jinapor noted that the investigation was commissioned to establish the facts surrounding the incident and to provide a basis for preventing similar occurrences in the future.

The Minister further indicated that the government remains committed to safeguarding critical energy infrastructure and ensuring the reliability and stability of the country's power transmission system.

The fire at the Akosombo Substation raised concerns about the security and resilience of key power installations, prompting the establishment of an investigative committee to examine the incident and recommend corrective measures.
