Prominent legal practitioner and lawmaker Samuel Atta Akyea has refuted public claims that he abandoned his client, Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as “Chairman Wontumi”, during a major High Court ruling.
Speaking on Joy FM's “Top Story”, Atta Akyea clarified that his absence from the country was entirely due to a personal and unavoidable family milestone—his daughter’s graduation ceremony in the United Kingdom.
Dismissing the claims that he left his client in a legal predicament, the seasoned lawyer said: "I didn’t abandon my client; I travelled for my daughter’s graduation...I didn't see how I could have absented myself.”
