Improved police operations set to deter robbery — Richard Kumadoe
Fraud and security consultant Richard Kumadoe says recent improvements in police operations will go a long way in preventing robbery and other violent crimes.
According to him, the changes in strategy and operational outlook have made the work of the police easier and more effective, creating a strong deterrent for individuals who may intend to engage in criminal activities.
Speaking on Accra 100.5 mid-news on Tuesday, he noted that the key suspect in the recent car-hijacking case has been arrested, together with others believed to be from the northern part of the country.
He added that the police have the capacity to track down and bring back all remaining suspects.
Mr. Kumadoe further stressed that the IGP, the BNI, and the Cybersecurity authorities must lead the prosecution and investigations, as they possess the right strategies and expertise to handle such cases successfully.
He also advised drivers, especially commercial drivers, to adopt some level of security protection to safeguard themselves against armed attacks.
He emphasised that personal vigilance, combined with improved policing, will help reduce such incidents across the country.
Mr. Kumadoe therefore commended the IGP and his team for their swift action.
His remarks come after the IGP addressed the media in Kumasi, confirming the arrest of a notorious car-hijacking syndicate operating in the Ashanti Region.
