Ghana's Ministry of Interior has taken the top spot in a latest report by the Africa Centre for Entrepreneurship and Youth Empowerment (ACEYE), being recognised as the best-performing institution in the country.

The report, titled 'Index of Government Institutions' Performance Towards Economic Prosperity (IGIPTEP)', evaluated government institutions based on factors like service quality, transparency, financial management, and public engagement.

The Ministry of Interior led other institutions with an overall score of 80.8% and 80% in indicators like public engagement. Despite its gains, the report noted some areas of weaknesses, including limited transparency in fund allocation and contract management.

The full report will be launched on March 27, 2025, at Alisa Hotel in Accra, during which the Minister for Public Sector Reforms, Lydia Lamisi Akanvariba, is expected to speak. Also present will be Joyce Lee from Atlas Network; Fred McMahon, Resident Fellow; Dr Michael A. Walker, Chair in Economic Freedom; and Franklin Cudjoe of Imani Africa.
