The Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, has inaugurated the newly constituted Board of Prestea Sankofa Gold Limited (PSGL), a subsidiary of the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation (GNPC).

The ceremony marks a strategic step toward revitalising the company, which plays a unique role in the mining sector by extracting gold primarily from old tailings and waste ore.

The approach not only enhances value addition within the industry but also contributes to job creation in host communities.

Addressing the Board, Mr. Jinapor urged the members to discharge their duties with professionalism, transparency, and a sense of urgency, noting that PSGL has significant potential to reclaim its position as a strong pillar in Ghana’s natural resources sector.

“The company’s purpose is clear, and its potential is significant.

With the right leadership and focus, PSGL can once again become a strong pillar within our natural resources sector,” he stated.

The Board is chaired by Mr Emmanuel Nii Ashie Moore, with the following members appointed to serve:

Kwame Ntow Amoah

Hajia Amina Adam

Alhaji Ishaq Dauda

According to the Minister, the collective expertise of the Board members will be crucial in steering PSGL toward operational revival, improved efficiency, and long-term profitability.

The inauguration is expected to pave the way for renewed confidence and strategic restructuring within the company as it positions itself for sustainable growth.
