Kan Dapaah sues Barker-Vormawor for GHS10m over alleged US$1m bribe

National Security Minister Albert Kan Dapaah has filed a defamation suit against #FixTheCountry Movement convener Oliver Barker-Vormawor for claiming he (the minister) offered the activist a bribe of US$1 million and government appointments so he stops organising demonstrations against the government.
Mr Barker-Vormawor made the allegation during the recent #OccupyJulorbiHouse demonstration in Accra.
Mr Kan Dapaah's ministry issued a statement denying the claim but Mr Barker-Vormawor insisted in media interviews that he had a recording to prove the was an attempt to bribe him and his fellow activists at a meeting held at a "safe house".
In his suit, Mr Kan Dapaah is demanding damages of GHS10 million, a retraction of the defamatory words, an unreserved apology and an injunction on Mr Barker-Vormawor from uttering the same or any defamatory words against him in the future.
