Mahama's support fund for children of victims of helicopter crash accrues GHS 2,315,000.00

President John Dramani Mahama has announced the creation of a Children’s Support Fund to safeguard the welfare of children who lost their parents in the tragic helicopter crash of August 6, 2025.
The announcement was made on Friday, August 15, 2025, with the fund already accruing GHS 2,315,000.00 in donations.
The government expressed its appreciation to Stanbic Bank Ghana, which provided a seed donation of GHS 500,000.00, as well as to a number of corporate organisations that have contributed to the Fund.

Sage Distribution Ltd

Quantum LPG Logistics Ltd
Newgas Cylinder Ltd
Quantum Terminals PLC

Cheques and bank drafts are to be made payable to: CHILDREN SUPPORT FUND 6825.
According to Dr. Valerie Sawyerr, Senior Presidential Advisor on Governmental Affairs and Coordinator of the Fund, a list of donors will be published weekly as contributions continue to come in.
