Minority leader calls for transparent investigation into Tema air crash
Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin has called for a transparent and time-bound investigation into the microlight aircraft crash in Tema that claimed two lives.
The Effutu MP is also demanding that the findings of the investigation be made public, alongside a review and strengthening of aviation safety protocols, as well as adequate support for the bereaved families.
He further expressed concern about the recent rise in aircraft-related incidents, questioning how a private aircraft was permitted to operate over a densely populated area.
However the Majority Chief Whip Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor has called on operators of the microlight aircraft involved in the Tema crash to strictly observe maintenance and safety standards to prevent similar incidents.
Presenting a statement on the tragic death of two brothers following the loss of control of the light aircraft, he also urged the Ghana Air Force to collaborate with private aircraft owners to enhance safety and protect lives.
He added that the incident has deeply affected the bereaved family and all those impacted.
