In a significant move towards fighting corruption and promoting transparency, President John Dramani Mahama has officially declared his assets.
This declaration, as required by the 1992 Constitution of Ghana under Act 550, was submitted in writing to the Audit Service.
The document has been received by the Auditor-General, Johnson Akuamoah-Asiedu, and includes detailed information about the President's properties and assets.
This step is part of President Mahama’s commitment to ensuring accountability in his leadership, a key theme in his 2024 campaign.
It does not stop there as President Mahama has also instructed all his appointees to follow suit. They are required to submit their asset declarations by March 31, 2024, or risk facing consequences, including removal from office.
