A prophecy delivered by the founder and leader of Regin House Chapel, Prophet Eric Boahen Uche—popularly known as Prophet Uche—has drawn public attention following the death of a Member of Parliament less than a week into 2026.

Speaking during his church’s Watch Night Service on December 31, 2025, Prophet Uche, who is widely regarded as a spiritual protégé of Prophet Isaac Owusu Bempah of Glorious Word Power Ministries, predicted that there would be vacant seats in Ghana’s Parliament in 2026.

He urged Ghanaians to pray for Members of Parliament and their families, warning that Parliament would experience vacancies that would result in by-elections.

“Last year, I said we should pray for our Parliament.

For 2026, we should pray for Parliament again.

There is going to be a vacant seat in the Parliament House,” he said.
“Those of you who have relatives in Parliament, let us pray for them.

If you know someone in Parliament, dip that person into the blood of Jesus because two seats will become vacant.

There will be two by-elections in Parliament.”

Less than a week after the prophecy, the Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East in the Greater Accra Region, Mohamed Naser Toure Mahama, passed away, an event that will constitutionally trigger a by-election in the constituency.

Mr. Mahama died on the afternoon of Sunday, January 4, 2026, after a reported illness.

He is expected to be buried on Monday, January 5, 2026, in accordance with Islamic rites.

Born on March 17, 1965, in Nima, Accra, Naser Toure Mahama was a seasoned politician and businessman who represented Ayawaso East on the ticket of the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

He was first elected to Parliament in 2012 and successfully retained the seat in subsequent elections, including a decisive victory in the 2024 general elections, where he polled over 70 per cent of the valid votes cast.

Academically, the late MP held a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Central University, a Diploma in Governance from the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA), and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Doshisha University in Japan.

Following his death, discussions around Prophet Uche’s 2026 prophecy have intensified among sections of the public, particularly on social media, as the nation mourns the late legislator and awaits the Electoral Commission’s roadmap for a by-election in Ayawaso East.
