Tema East MP strengthens institutional ties with strategic visits

The Member of Parliament for Tema East Constituency in the Greater Accra Region, Mr  Ashai Odamtten, on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, embarked on a series of working visits to key institutions in his constituency, aimed at deepening collaboration and addressing pressing infrastructure and security challenges.

Mr. Odamtten began the day at the Naval Command, where he underscored the importance of strengthening civil-military relations.

He commended the Navy for its dedicated service to the nation and pledged his support for initiatives that foster closer cooperation between the armed forces and the civilian population.

He was warmly received by the Flag Officer Commanding (FOC), Commodore Solomon Larbi-Asiedu, alongside senior officers, including Commander Agrah (Operations Officer), Commander Braimah (Technical Officer), Lt. Commander Akogo (Mechanical Transport Officer), Sub Lt. Pobee (FOC’s Secretary and Command Cox’n), and FCPO1 Sapaley.

Commodore Asiedu expressed appreciation for the MP’s visit and assured him of the Navy’s commitment to working with the people of Tema East to safeguard peace and security.

Mr. Odamtten was accompanied by Richster Amarfio, Patrick Adjetey, and Comrade Charles Amoako-Brobbey (Freshers).

The MP later visited the Manhean District Fire Service, where discussions focused on encroachment on fire hydrants and the need for expanded office facilities.

Together with fire officers, Mr. Odamtten inspected a new fire station project he is spearheading for the community, which is nearing completion.

District Fire Officer Mr. Samuel Adjetey Konney praised the MP for his consistent support, including a recent cash donation to repaint and rebrand the existing fire station, as well as his instrumental role in the construction of the new station at Bankuman.

The facility is expected to greatly enhance emergency response capabilities in the area.

Other officials present included Frank Wiredu, District Operations 2IC, and J. Amoah of Central Administration.

Concluding his day, Mr. Odamtten paid a courtesy call on the Tema Metro Chief Imam, Alhaji Adam Abubakari. Discussions centred on strengthening interfaith relations and advancing community development, with emphasis on collaborative efforts to promote peace and socio-economic progress.
