US Embassy in Accra opens additional non-immigrant visa appointment slots
The US Embassy in Accra has announced the opening of thousands of additional non-immigrant visa appointment slots, with many of the new slots already available.
In a statement, the embassy said it continues to process non-immigrant visa applications, and encouraged applicants to take advantage of the expanded appointment availability.
The development comes as interest in travel to the United States increases ahead of major global events, including the 2026 FIFA World Cup, which will be hosted across several US cities.
The embassy advised individuals planning to travel for the tournament, who do not already hold a valid US visa, to apply early to avoid delays.
Applicants have also been reminded to submit their applications and book appointments only through the official US visa appointment website, urging the public to avoid unauthorised third-party agents.
Meanwhile a pause has been placed on processing and issuance of immigrant visa from Ghana.
