Even after her 1-year sentence with hard labour, TikToker Camila Alhassan’s legal troubles are far from over.

The Ghana Police Service says it is preparing to arraign the 43-year-old before the High Court on an additional charge of false communication under the Electronic Communications Act, 2008 (Act 775).

The Accra Circuit Court on July 16, 2026 convicted her of offensive conduct over a TikTok video targeting President John Dramani Mahama and First Lady Mrs. Lordina Mahama.

Police explained the video contained insults, threats to their lives, and false claims about the President’s private life.

Camilla Alhassan is largely perceived by the public as an NPP TikToker due to her seeming political leanings to the opposition party.

According to the Police, the new High Court charge relates to the same video but falls under a different law dealing with false publication online.
