Ebo Noah: Court grants GH¢100,000 bail to ‘doomsday prophet’
A district court has granted bail to self-styled doomsday prophet Evans “Ebo Noah” Eshun in the sum of GH¢100,000, with two sureties. One of the sureties must be justified with verifiable security.
Under the bail conditions, one surety is required to provide tangible collateral, either a landed property or a vehicle, to guarantee the accused’s appearance in court.
The court stressed that the bail conditions must be strictly followed and warned that failure to meet them could result in the bail being revoked.
The case has been adjourned to March 18, 2026, for further hearing.
Speaking to the media after the ruling, Ebo Noah’s counsel, Emmanuel Sarfo, described the decision as fair and in line with the law.
“Thankfully, the court has exercised its discretion because discretion must always be fair, reasonable and just,” he said.
“So, it exercised it well pursuant to our laws and admitted our accused to bail with any property, with a landed property or a vehicle, in the amount of GHS100,000, and that is all.”
Ebo Noah was arrested on December 31, 2025, by the Ghana Police Service’s Special Cyber Vetting Team.
His arrest followed a widely publicised prediction that a catastrophic flood would destroy the world on December 25, 2025. He gained attention on social media by dressing like a biblical prophet in sackcloth and pronouncing judgement. On several occasions, he displayed a large boat structure, claiming he was preparing it to rescue survivors after the flood.
However, on the day the disaster was expected to occur, Ebo Noah claimed that his prayers and divine intervention had prevented the destruction.
The case drew significant public attention, with some members of the public reacting with amusement while others expressed fear. He later stated on social media that the announcement was a “vision” and “not a prophecy.”
