Former Sanitation Minister Cecilia Dapaah invited to CID over ORAL investigations

Former Minister for Sanitation and Water Resources, Cecilia Abena Dapaah, has been invited by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to assist with ongoing investigations under the government’s Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) initiative.
According to police sources, Madam Dapaah is expected to provide answers to questions relating to state funds allegedly misappropriated during her tenure in office.
Her invitation forms part of a broader effort by the CID, working in collaboration with the Attorney-General’s office, to trace and recover assets believed to have been unlawfully acquired by current and former public officials.
ORAL, launched earlier this year, is the government’s flagship anti-corruption initiative aimed at retrieving misused state resources and strengthening accountability.
President John Dramani Mahama has stressed that no individual will be shielded from scrutiny under the programme.
It is not immediately clear whether Cecilia Dapaah will face charges, but CID officials have confirmed that she will be questioned to clarify her role in matters currently under investigation.
The former minister has not publicly commented on the invitation.
