Gbetsile: Man hangs himself after butchering wife

A man in his 50s, Thomas Kontoh, has hanged himself after hacking his wife to death at Gbetsile Soldier Line in the Kpone Katamanso Municipality of the Greater Accra Region.
The ghastly incident occurred on Tuesday, 31 August 2021.
The husband, according to eyewitness reports, broke into Lydia Amponsah’s room around 1:30 am with a machete and hacked her in the head several times leaving her with fatal gashes.
A niece to the deceased said Mr Kontoh also chased after her with the intention to kill her as well.
He later hanged himself.
Police from the Atadeka Zenu police command conveyed the bodies to the morgue.
