Ghana Airport Company MD to appear before OSP today

The Managing Director of the Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL), Mrs. Yvonne Nana Afriyie Opare, is scheduled to appear before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) today, Wednesday, 6th August 2025, over issues of procurement breaches and corruption.
While details surrounding the summons remain unclear, sources indicate that the appearance is linked to an ongoing investigation into procurement-related issues within the company.
The OSP, mandated to investigate and prosecute cases of corruption and corruption-related offences, has in recent months intensified its scrutiny of state institutions, particularly those involved in large-scale public procurement.
The GACL has come under public and media attention following reports of alleged irregularities in its procurement processes, leading to the detention of the immediate past Board Chairman, Paul Adom Otchere. It is, however, not yet confirmed whether the MD’s invitation is directly related to those reports.
She was reported to have appeared before the OSP on Monday, August 4, but that did not come on
Officials at the Office of the Special Prosecutor have yet to release an official statement on the matter. Meanwhile, the Ghana Airports Company has also not commented publicly.
