Kade Court fines four youths for assaulting teacher
The Kade Magistrate Court, presided over by His Worship George Davis Ofori, has fined four youths GHS 3,800 each for assaulting a teacher at Kade Senior High Technical School.
The court ruled that GHS 1,800 of each fine is to be paid to the court, while GHS 2,000 is to be given as compensation to the victim.
His Worship Ofori further warned that failure by any of the convicted individuals to pay the total fine would result in a six-month prison sentence.
The assault, which took place on school premises, has raised concerns among parents, students, and educators about the safety of teachers and the growing incidents of student misconduct in schools.
Local education authorities have called for increased awareness and stricter enforcement of discipline to prevent similar cases in the future.
The convicted youths are expected to settle their fines within the timeframe set by the court to avoid imprisonment.
