NACOC Intercepts 89.74kg of suspected cocaine at Swiss Port bound for Netherlands

The Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) has intercepted a significant quantity of suspected cocaine at the Swiss Port in Tema, preventing its shipment to the Netherlands.
The operation, which took place on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, led to the seizure of seventy-three (73) slabs of a substance suspected to be cocaine, with a total weight of 89.74 kilograms.
The illicit cargo was being packaged for export when NACOC officials discovered the concealed drugs.
According to the Commission, four individuals have been arrested in connection with the attempted trafficking. They are currently in NACOC custody as investigations into the case continue.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the suspects but confirmed that efforts are ongoing to uncover the full network behind the operation.
The bust adds to a series of recent enforcement actions by NACOC aimed at curbing the trafficking of illicit drugs through Ghana's ports.
NACOC has assured the public of its commitment to safeguarding the country's borders and collaborating with international partners to dismantle transnational drug trafficking networks.
Further updates are expected as investigations progress.
