NACOC arrests manufacturing firm manager over alleged cocaine smuggling attempt at KIA
Operatives of the Narcotics Control Commission (NACOC) have detained a senior official of a manufacturing firm over an alleged attempt to traffic cocaine out of Ghana.
The individual, whose name has not been made public, is suspected to have hidden the drug inside packages of gari meant for shipment.
He was intercepted at Kotoka International Airport (KIA) after an operation based on intelligence.
Airport sources told Graphic Online that the man is thought to supervise production at the company.
Authorities are continuing their probe to clarify the circumstances of the case and to identify any possible accomplices.
Meanwhile, since the story broke on Angel FM’s morning show on Wednesday, February 12, 2026, social media has been rife with speculation over the identity of the company and the executive linked to the case.

Alexander Twum-Barimah, ESQ, Deputy Director-General of NACOC, speaking on Angel FM, disclosed that the company involved is based in Tema. However, he cautioned that releasing further details could have serious repercussions for the business while investigations remain ongoing.
However, Mr Twum-Barimah emphasised his unflagging dedication and seriousness to combating syndicates that engage in illicit activities and profit by "destroying precious people".
