Police arrest six in Juaso robbery and gang rape case
The Ashanti South Regional Police Command has arrested six suspects in connection with a series of robbery and gang rape incidents in Juaso, Ashanti Region.
The arrests followed an intelligence-led operation carried out on 8 January 2026, targeting a suspected criminal syndicate believed to be terrorising residents in the area.
The suspects have been identified as David Adusah (alias Vibes), Samuel Amantor (Road), Andrew Odei (Salinco), Sharif Mohammed (Isco), Joseph Addo (Moves), and Chidi Arinze (Orga Happiness).
According to the Police, searches conducted at the residences of the suspects led to the recovery of 49 mobile phone covers, a bayonet case, a green dress resembling a military uniform, and a photograph allegedly showing the group’s leader dressed in military-style camouflage.
A Toyota RAV4 vehicle, believed to have been used in the commission of the crimes, was also retrieved and impounded.
During interrogation, the suspects reportedly admitted their involvement in the alleged crimes.
On 12 January 2026, the six suspects were arraigned before a court and remanded into lawful custody.
They are expected to reappear on 28 January 2026 to allow the Police to complete investigations.
The Ghana Police Service has assured the public that investigations are ongoing and reiterated its commitment to ensuring that all persons found culpable are dealt with in accordance with the law.
