Ghana EximBank launches 10th anniversary with a pledge to reset export and industrialisation agenda
Ghana's Export-Import Bank (GEXIM) has kicked off its 10th anniversary celebrations with a pledge to reset the country's export and industrialisation agenda.![]()
Board Chairman Dr Joseph Nyarkotei Dorh described GEXIM as a "strategic enabler" that's helped strengthen value chains and boost Ghana's participation in global trade.
"Ten years is a meaningful chapter - but it's not the full story," he said.
"The next decade will be defined by how boldly we collaborate, innovate, and invest in Ghanaian enterprise."
The anniversary conference, scheduled for March 25-26, 2026, will bring together key stakeholders, including EXIM banks, government ministries, and businesses.
"This won't be a closed-door event," Dr Dorh emphasised.
"It's designed to produce practical recommendations that move Ghana's export agenda forward."![]()
GEXIM CEO Sylvester A. Mensah said the anniversary will be marked with a year-long programme, including the AGROTECH Fair 2026 and an international conference.
"Export growth must be approached as a system, not a slogan," he said.
"It requires patient capital, effective risk-mitigation tools, and institutions that can align incentives from farm gate to factory and from factory to global markets."
The conference will focus on global shifts in export finance, blended finance models, and priority value chains, including garments and apparel, poultry, and oil palm.
"This conference is both a reflection and a reset," Mensah said.
"It acknowledges progress made, but also recognises that the next decade will demand greater agility, deeper partnerships, and smarter financial instruments."
