Police arrest suspect for possession of suspected narcotic drugs in Nkurakan

The Ghana Police Service has arrested a suspect, Christopher Saigoe, for unlawful possession of substances believed to be narcotic drugs in Nkurakan, Eastern Region.
The arrest took place on June 17, 2025, during a targeted police operation.
Officers intercepted a Sprinter Benz bus with registration number AS 1933-21, which was being driven by the suspect.
Upon searching the vehicle, police discovered five sacks of maize that had been used to conceal seventy-eight (78) oval-shaped, sellotaped packages containing plant material suspected to be Indian hemp.
Christopher Saigoe is currently in police custody and assisting with ongoing investigations.
Authorities say he will be arraigned before the court in the coming days.
