Pooley: Police arrest 2 more, pursuing others including female, over Kotoko devotee’s death

“As at this afternoon, we’ve arrested two more persons bringing the total number of people who’ve been arrested to five,” Dr George Akuffo Dampare, Inspector General of Police (IGP) has announced.
“And we’re currently pursuing a few others, including a female, who has been in hiding,” he added in his briefing, asking, also: “But the question is how far can you run and for how long can you hide?”
He assured the family of the slain Asante Kotoko super supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong (Pooley), Asante Kotoko SC, Ghana Football Association (GFA) and the football fraternity of Ghana that “we’ll stop at nothing in getting the people involved arrested to face justice”.
He urged the public and football fraternity in particular to support the police in its pursuit of justice.
He underlined the incident “as a crime which is being investigated and nothing else so that the family, the club, football fraternity and the country will have closure when it comes to this matter”.
For the police, IGP Dampare said the service will use this incident “proactively” to “learn the relevant lessons” and review its “blueprint” to ensure “football continues to be a game that is enjoyed and not a game [during] which people will end up losing their lives”.
“This must not happen again,” he said, emphasising the police had the charge to make sure of same.
