2024/25 School placements released: Over 553,000 students secure SHS, TVET admission
The Ministry of Education has officially released the much-anticipated 2024/25 school placements for Senior High Schools (SHS) and Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions, allowing thousands of qualified students to secure admission for the upcoming academic year.
In a statement, the Ministry reported that out of 563,339 results received from the West African Examinations Council (WAEC), 553,155 candidates met the criteria for placement.
Of these, 447,698 candidates, representing 80.93 per cent, were successfully placed in one of their selected schools.
However, approximately 104,918 qualified students were unable to secure placement in any of their preferred schools.
To assist these students, the Ministry has activated the Self-Placement platform, where candidates can select from schools with available spaces.
To check placements, students are advised to visit the official CSSPS websites at www.cssps.gov.gh or www.cssps.org, enter their ten-digit index number followed by the year of completion (for example, 123456789024 for 2024), and submit their details to view their placement status.
To further support students and families, the Ministry has set up a National Solution Centre at GNAT Hall in Adabraka, Accra, along with 16 Regional Solution Centres across the country.
Additionally, a helpline at 0308258001 is available to answer placement-related inquiries.
