Bono: Mentukwa M/A school appeals for support after rainstorm destroys classroom block

Teachers and students of Mentukwa M/A Primary and Junior High School in the Sunyani West Municipality are appealing for urgent support after a rainstorm destroyed their school building.
According to school authorities, the incident occurred on April 7, 2025, and has since disrupted academic activities.
Speaking to the media, the Assistant Headmistress, Madam Doris Boadan, explained that the destruction of the classroom block has forced the school to divide existing classrooms to accommodate displaced pupils.
Some students are currently being taught in an incomplete building, while others are studying in a nearby family's house.
Madam Boadan noted that the Sunyani West Municipal Education Director, the Member of Parliament for the area, and the Municipal Chief Executive have all visited the school to assess the damage.
However, reconstruction work is yet to begin.
She called on the government and relevant stakeholders to urgently intervene, especially as final-year students are preparing for the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
Some affected students also spoke to the media, describing the difficult learning conditions they now face due to the collapse of their school building.
