C/R: MCE leads “my first day at school” initiative in collaboration with MP and Education Directorate

The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE), Mr Seth Sabah Serwornoo-Banini, has led the successful rollout of the “My First Day at School” initiative in the municipality, on behalf of the Member of Parliament, Miss Phillis Naa Koryoo Okunor, and in collaboration with the Municipal Education Directorate in the Central Region.
The revived programme, aimed at encouraging pupils to stay in school and improving educational outcomes, saw each new entrant receive exercise books, writing materials, and assorted snacks to mark the milestone.
During the exercise, the MCE interacted with pupils, teachers, and headteachers, using the occasion to familiarise himself with conditions in the schools.
He also engaged staff on their challenges and working environment, while urging them to remain committed to nurturing the next generation.
Mr Serwornoo-Banini emphasised the shared responsibility of educators and community leaders in shaping society positively through quality education.
He further assured them of the Assembly’s commitment to prioritising education, noting that efforts would be intensified to restore the municipality’s past glory in academic excellence.
