C/R: Minister cultivates 100 acres to supply School Feeding Programme under Mahama’s 24-hour Economy plan
The Central Regional Minister, Ekow Okyere Panyin Eduamoah, has cultivated 100 acres of farmland to produce food for the School Feeding Programme as part of President John Dramani Mahama’s 24-hour Economy Market policy.
The initiative is aimed at supplying schools directly with farm produce at affordable prices, making it easier for caterers to access fresh and cheaper food items for meal preparation.
The farm produces a variety of crops intended to improve the nutritional value of meals served to schoolchildren and support their overall health and well-being.
Mr Eduamoah called on other ministers and Members of Parliament (MPs) to emulate the initiative in support of the President’s resetting agenda.

Regional Coordinator for the School Feeding Programme, Madam Janet Quansah, commended the minister for the intervention, noting that it would ease the financial burden on caterers who often struggle with the high cost of foodstuffs.
She said the effort aligns with the broader goal of boosting local food production and strengthening food security in the country.

Some workers at the farm also applauded the Regional Minister and President Mahama for the initiative, describing it as a step that not only supports the School Feeding Programme but also creates employment opportunities.
