The abandoned KG project at Bosomtwe

The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) Chairman for Kuntenase D/A Basic School in the Bosomtwe District of the Ashanti region, Mr Kenneth Owusu, has called on the Education Minister who doubles as the Member of Parliament for the area to complete an abandoned KG block in the school.

The classroom block which was started by the MP about four years ago has been abandoned in a bush, housing reptiles, and sometimes, the pupils have to contribute to weed it.

The PTA Chairman said they have made several efforts to ensure the block is completed to accommodate the pupils who have no comfortable classroom to study in but no results have been achieved.

He made this known in an interview with Class 91.3 FM's Elisha Adarkwa when the Chief Executive Officer of Guan Bay Herbal and Spiritual Centre donated dual desks and a projector to the school, which is the CEO's alma mater.

Mr Owusu, therefore, appealed to the Education Minister to complete the abandoned project to enable the pupils get a comfortable place to learn.

For his part, the Assembly Member for Kuntenase Electoral Area, Mr Paul Owusu, also complained that most schools in the area lack classroom furniture.

'Schools in Kuntenase, Pekyerensa, and Toanfom all within his electoral area, he said, lack classroom furniture as two pupils share a chair which is supposed to be used by a pupil and sometimes plastic chairs from churches have to be borrowed for the pupil's use.

He expressed his gratitude to Dr Guan Bay for donating the dual desks to the school, saying it will help reduce pressure on the furniture they have.
