Education Minister urges professionalism among teachers

The Minister for Education,  Haruna Iddrisu, has reminded educators that no teacher is above the law, urging them to uphold discipline, professionalism, and accountability in the discharge of their duties.

Speaking at the 2025 Ghana Teacher Prize ceremony in Ho, the Minister commended teachers across the country for their dedication and sacrifices, describing them as the foundation of national development.

However, he emphasised that true excellence in education must be anchored in ethics, integrity, and respect for professional standards.

Mr. Iddrisu noted that the government’s ongoing education sector reforms are aimed not only at improving teacher welfare but also at reinforcing accountability and performance within the teaching profession.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to enhancing conditions of service for teachers, acknowledging the challenges they face and assuring them of sustained efforts to provide the necessary support and motivation to deliver quality education.

 

The event celebrated outstanding educators whose innovation, resilience, and leadership continue to inspire excellence in Ghana’s education system.
