Education Ministry partners Zipline to boost STEM education

The Ministry of Education is embarking on a groundbreaking collaboration with Zipline Technology, a global leader in drone technology and delivery solutions, aimed at revolutionising Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) education in Ghana.
The innovative project aims to spark students' interest, deepen their knowledge, and enhance their skills in the field of drone technology.
During a recent meeting at the Ministry in Accra; the Minister, Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, detailed how to seamlessly integrate drone technology into the existing STEM curriculum.
This exciting initiative will be rolled out in seven STEM-focused schools across the country, specifically selected to offer specialised programmes in Aviation and Aerospace.
These schools, he said, will serve as hubs of innovation, fostering an environment conducive to hands-on learning and exploration in the field of drones.
In addition to boosting students' proficiency in drone technology, Zipline Technology will play a vital role in facilitating the swift and dependable delivery of educational materials, including textbooks and examination papers, to schools, he said.
He added that this addresses a critical need for timely access to essential learning resources.
''The Ministry of Education is fully committed to creating a transformative educational experience for students,'' he noted.
He further said the collaborative effort represents a significant step toward positioning Ghana at the forefront of technological innovation and proficiency in the global landscape.
