Haruna Iddrisu represents President Mahama at KNUST’s 59th congregation and R.P. Baffour Memorial lectures

The Minister for Education, Mr. Haruna Iddrisu, on behalf of President John Dramani Mahama, graced the 59th Congregation and the 13th Edition of the R.P. Baffour Memorial lectures at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) in Kumasi.
In his remarks, the Minister described the event as both “an honour and a profound joy,” underscoring the significance of KNUST’s longstanding role as a pillar of academic excellence and innovation in Ghana’s educational landscape.
“We celebrate not just the academic achievements of our graduands, but also the enduring vision of a university that has, for decades, remained a beacon of knowledge, innovation, and service to our nation,” he said.
Mr. Iddrisu, speaking on behalf of the Government of Ghana and the Ministry of Education, extended warm congratulations to all the graduates, recognising their dedication, sacrifice, and resilience.
He also commended the invaluable contributions of families, mentors, and faculty members who have supported the students throughout their academic journeys.
The R.P. Baffour Memorial Lectures, held annually in honour of KNUST’s founding principal, continue to serve as a platform for reflection on higher education, science, and national development.
This year’s event once again reaffirmed KNUST’s commitment to producing graduates who contribute meaningfully to Ghana’s progress.
