MP supports 765 BECE candidates in Builsa South with exam materials

A total of 765 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) candidates in the Builsa South District of the Upper East Region have received mentorship, educational supplies, and a fully funded mock examination package, thanks to their Member of Parliament, Dr. Clement Abas Apaak.
The beneficiaries, made up of 396 girls and 369 boys, are preparing for the upcoming June 2025 BECE.
The support initiative, which has become an annual intervention since Dr. Apaak assumed office, is designed to strengthen both the academic performance and psychological readiness of students ahead of their final examinations.
Speaking to the media, Dr. Apaak—who also serves as the Deputy Minister of Education—reiterated his unwavering commitment to promoting quality education in the district.
He pledged continued collaboration with teachers, parents, and stakeholders to uphold every child’s right to learn and succeed.
“Education remains my top priority. I will continue to invest in initiatives that ensure our children are well-prepared and confident as they take this critical step in their academic journey,” Dr. Apaak said.
The District Deputy Director of Education, Mr. Akumzeyam Stephen, lauded the MP’s consistent dedication over the years.
He highlighted several of Dr. Apaak’s interventions, including the provision of furniture, organisation of quizzes and extra classes, school renovations, and the annual distribution of mathematical sets.
On her part, District Chief Executive, Madam Musah Anne, led the distribution of materials across all 25 public basic schools in the district.
She used the occasion to caution students against drug abuse, particularly the misuse of tramadol, known locally as “RED.”
“Stay focused and avoid harmful substances. Drug abuse can destroy your future. Use this support from your leaders as motivation to study hard and make your families and community proud,” she advised.
