Ministry of Communication & Digitalisation hosts Girls-In-ICT project in Damongo

The Ministry of Communication and Digitalisation will host the Girls-In-ICT project in Damongo, the capital of the Savanna Region on the 8th and 9th of May 2023.
Speaking to Class 93.1 FM in Damongo, the Minister of Communication & Digitalisation, Mrs Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, said her ministry is in the Savanna Region to ensure that young girls take up career courses in Information Communication Technology (ICT).
She disclosed that Girls-In-ICT is an initiative of the International Communication Union (ICU) that was adopted and expanded by her ministry.
She noted that the ICT industry is full of men, therefore, the aim of the initiative is to ensure that every girl-child everywhere benefits from ICT education.
She added that so far, a total of 1,000 girls have been trained in ICT and on the 8th and 9th of May 2023, the project will be concluded at the Damongo community center.
She explained that the outstanding girls who excel most will be given gifts such as laptops, plaques, certificates of participation and cash prizes
