The Chief Executive Officer of the National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP), Eric Adjei Esq, has encouraged students in the Ashanti Region to convert their talents into sustainable businesses, saying creativity alone is not sufficient to achieve economic success.

Speaking at the Ashanti Arts and Enterprise Summit in Kumasi, held under the theme "From Talent to Enterprise", Mr Adjei commended the Ashanti Regional Minister for what he described as his commitment to promoting youth empowerment through innovation, creativity and entrepreneurship.

He said the creative works showcased at the summit and across Kumasi reflected the talent and innovative potential of young people in the region.

“The Ashanti Region has never been short on talent. Our history, culture and people are rooted in a rich tradition of artistry and craftsmanship. However, talent alone is not enough. Talent is what you can do, but enterprise is how you make it sustainable and turn it into economic freedom,” he said.

Mr Adjei highlighted the government's Students Entrepreneurship and Enterprise Development (SEED) Programme, describing it as a key initiative aimed at providing students with entrepreneurial skills, mentorship and access to funding.

Reflecting on his personal journey, he disclosed that he was a former student of Osei Tutu Senior High School in Kumasi and noted that the Ashanti Regional Minister had been his senior at the school.

The summit brought together students, educators, government officials and industry stakeholders to promote creativity, innovation and entrepreneurship among young people in the Ashanti Region.
