Oppong Nkrumah Scholarship Programme disburses GHS134,000 to support 22 tertiary students

The Oppong Nkrumah Scholarship and Bursary Programme has disbursed a total of GHS134,000 to support the latest batch of 22 tertiary students across 16 institutions in Ghana.
The initiative, launched in 2017 by the Member of Parliament for Ofoase Ayirebi Constituency in the Eastern Region, Mr. Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, aims to provide financial assistance to brilliant but needy students pursuing higher education.
According to a statement from the MP’s office, the 9th batch of beneficiaries has enrolled in diverse academic disciplines, including medicine, law, marketing, public health, midwifery, business administration, education, and secretaryship.
The statement also commended five beneficiaries currently studying in medical and physician assistant schools, urging them to maintain academic excellence and commitment to their professional training.
Since its inception, the Oppong Nkrumah Scholarship Programme has supported over 700 students, demonstrating the MP’s dedication to educational empowerment and human capital development within the constituency.
The office encouraged individuals and corporate entities interested in supporting the initiative — or students seeking assistance — to reach out through official channels or via email at [email protected].
“Education remains the most powerful tool for community transformation, and this programme continues to make that vision a reality,” the statement noted.
