Schools without textbooks: Minister hasn’t granted interviews to any media houses – Education Ministry

The Ministry of Education (MoE) has condemned what it describes as the “deliberate spread of false information and the misuse of media to cultivate negative sentiments against the [sector] minister without recourse to their own professional tenets”.
This comes on the back of reports by Accra-based TV3 and some media outlets regarding statements supposedly made by the Education Minister challenging headteachers to list schools without textbooks.
The Education Ministry, in a statement on Thursday, 17 August 2023, signed by its Spokesperson Kwasi Kwarten, clarified that “the minister has not granted any interview or made any statement to TV3 or any other media outlet regarding this specific matter”.
It urged the public to “dismiss” the report as it is untrue and lacks a “factual basis”.
